A real eye-catcher, that’s the super chic Ravello from the Hagenhorst. During the KWPN Stallion Selection, he managed to convince the judges with his fantastic jumping manners, quick reflexes and excellent canter. He was invited to the performance test, where he will show his talents in the spring of 2025. Meanwhile, Ravello is also AES-approved, further underscoring his qualities as a breeding stallion.
Ravello’s sire is the much-discussed Dourkhan Hero Z (Don’t Touch Tiji Hero Z x Zandor Z). Under Christian Ahlmann, he recently debuted at 1.60m level, impressing with ease and class. His progeny is characterized by horses with beautiful models, lots of charisma and a fantastic canter. Dourkhan Hero Z is bred from the famous Roosakker lineage, from which numerous top show jumpers are descended. The full sister of his dam is the 1.70m jumping Zarkava Hero Z. Also coming directly from this mare line are the 1.60m jumping horses Electra van het Roosakker, Falko van het Roosakker, Babbe van het Roosakker, Cella and Equador van het Roosakker.
On the maternal side, Ravello is no less interesting. He comes from the prestigious Holstein lineage 104a, known for many years as one of Holstein’s most successful lines. Mother Lowinskey SR is a daughter of Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof (from the famous Querly Chin line) and the Accord II daughter Halina VI. Among others, Halina gave Quote 6, successful at 1.60m level, as well as a 1.50m and a 1.45m horse. Halina’s dam is the well-known mare Tyrza, who produced the influential stallion Corland VDL. Under the saddle of Wout Jan van der Schans, Corland competed at the highest level and was among others active at the European Jumping Championships, here he won both qualifications and finished 9th in the final standings. In addition to Corland, Tyrza gave two 1.60m horses and a Grand Prix dressage horse. The famous stallions Caretano and Contendro I also descend from this line.
Ravello is a very willing horse with a very nice character. His canter is a dream in which his balance is especially striking. In jumping, he shows very good reflexes and scope.
